Ahead of the Paris motor show, Fiat has announced the Panda Trekking, which links the two and four-wheel-drive model variants in the range. The car keeps the styling of the 4x4 car, other than slightly different alloy wheels and the lack of a skid-plate. A system called ‘Traction+’ electronically manages power, meaning the car will cope on challenging terrain despite being front-wheel drive only.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo is to receive two special editions: the SBK Special Series and the SBK Limited Edition 1.4 170 HP QV. The first will be available with any of the standard engine variants, and features 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome-plated spoiler and a new rear bumper. The latter – a limited run of 200 cars – will be based on the hot Cloverleaf model, using its 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir engine. It sits on 18-inch alloys and gets an active suspension system.
Jeep has announced three new model variants. The Grand Cherokee SRT Limited Edition boasts a 6.4-litre V8 producing 468bhp, as well as sportier body trim. The Wrangler Moab features larger off-road wheels and a new anti-spin differential. Catering for the luxury SUV market, the Compass Overland adds 18-inch wheels, leather seats and a new infotainment system.
Nissan's new Nismo road car programme will make its motor show debut at Paris with a production version of the Juke NISMO. It features revised aerodynamics, a modified engine and improvements to the chassis. The company will also be releasing a facelifted 370Z, with a new front bumper the major change. Finally the Qashqai 360 benefits from a new Around View Monitor system for much easier parking.
